ZeroWater ZD-023 23-Cup Water Dispenser and Filtration System

Product Description

Be prepared to taste the best tasting water like never before – we guarantee it! Unlike conventional gravity-fed water filters, ZeroWater’s patented 5-stage ion-exchange filter delivers the only filtered water to measure absolute 000 on the TDS meter. Compare that to the levels you’ll find in other filtered waters, most bottled waters and plain unfiltered tap water—all of which contain measurable amounts of dissolved substances. Meter readings for tap water average between 75 and 300. Conventional filtered water measures between 030-500, and bottle water between 000-350. The sleek design on the 23-Cup Dispenser allows you to get you water without taking it out of the refrigerator. The Dispenser has a spot on the front allowing access to water without removing the product from the refrigerator. The Dispenser comes with the following products: One ZeroWater® filter cartridge that removes contaminants that cause water to have an unpleasant taste; An independently made Electronic Water Tester that test for totally dissolved solids in the water. This TDS Meter offers peace of mind that your ZeroWater® filter cartridges are working properly. It also lets you know when to replace the filters. When your water starts reading “006” it’s time for a change. More complete filtration than ordinary carbon filters for a clean, crisp taste. Certified to NSF Standard 53 to reduce specific health-related contaminants such Lead, Chromium and Mercury. Certified to NSF Standard 42 to reduce contaminants like Hydrogen Sulfide, Chlorine Taste and Odor. Certified to WQA42 standard for Iron, Zinc and Aluminum.

  • 5-stage dual Ion Exchange filter removes virtually all dissolved solids from tap water
  • As effective at reducing chromium-6 in tap water as reverse osmosis systems
  • Includes electronic TDS water testing meter
  • Fits in the refrigerator; flip-up lid for easy refilling
  • ZeroWater offers a filter recycle program. They recycle the plastic and regenerate the resin used in the filter process

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased with quality and savings!! Great value!, February 9, 2011

This review is from: ZeroWater ZD-023 23-Cup Water Dispenser and Filtration System (Kitchen)
I did quite a bit of research before purchasing the ZeroWater ZD-023 Dispenser/ Filtration System. After 6 weeks of use, it performs like a champ, and I'm still on the first filter. I'd guess I've filtered something like 30 gallons, and it still reads 000 ppm on the included TDS meter. My water is from a private domestic well, untreated, and meters on average 220 from the tap.

I compared bottled water from the supermarket. Their "spring water" metered at 065, the store "distilled" at 008. Nearby distributed water system treated water metered at 280. A local business imports their water in large jugs, and they allowed me to check it. "Drinking water" metered at 070; reverse osmosis distilled at 002.

Minimum EPA standards are 500 ppm; New Mexico state requires no more than 1000.

So there are some baselines. My ZeroWater system performed very well. The taste is fine.

The most negative review here didn't mention quality... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than bottled water, more convenient too., November 29, 2010
This review is from: ZeroWater ZD-023 23-Cup Water Dispenser and Filtration System (Kitchen)
Get this and drink clean water!

I've been using a zerowater pitcher for about a year. Just got this larger dispenser and couldn't be happier. So much easier than buying bottles and the water is much cleaner and healthier (I add mineral drops to make it perfect). I am sensitive to Chlorine and Fluoride so zerowater makes me feel much better.

Most bottled waters are not nearly as pure as zerowater and contain chlorine, fluoride, or some of both. Lots of companies even add the fluoride after getting it clean. Maybe some people want it, but I don't. Of course bottles are a bad solution anyways, since the plastic chemicals can get into the water, and the bottles themselves create a lot of waste.

Not everyone needs to avoid chemicals in their water like I do, but everyone can enjoy drinking clean water. With this dispenser you can even cook with clean water. I drink the water cold, heat it in my electric kettle for tea, and make soup, all... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best tasting water, December 1, 2010
This review is from: ZeroWater ZD-023 23-Cup Water Dispenser and Filtration System (Kitchen)
I am a very happy Zero Water customer. My family and I love the taste of the water and since it comes out of a blue pitcher we all call it "blue water". The water is great tasting, and according to the water tester included, the cleanest water as well. You cant beat zero! We were so happy with the pitcher we just upgraded to the new 23 cup version. We now can enjoy the great taste and do not have to fill the pitcher as often. The spout on the new pitcher allows us to pour the water and not have to take the pitcher out of the refrigerator.
Zero Water has enabled my whole family to drink more water. We save money over bottled water. We help the environment by not using the plastic bottles and even save money. When the water starts to taste poorly, we know it is time to change the filter. For some reason when the filter goes bad, you know its time. This beats the other products when you have no idea when to change the filters.

Aquasana AQ-4100 Deluxe Shower Water Filter System with Adjustable Showerhead

Product Description

Aquasana ® AQ-4100 Deluxe Shower Water Filter System with Adjustable Showerhead

Aquasana AQ-4100 Shower Filter was voted "Product of the Year" by Cosmetology Today Magazine! This unique 2-Stage shower water filter is US Patented, has a high filtering capacity and is easy to install. No tools necessary, although pliers may be helpful. The granular copper/zinc and coconut shell carbon replaceable water filter effectively removes 99% of Chlorine, reduces VOC`s, heavy metals and other chemicals, as well as enhancing pH.

Stage 1 removes chlorine and enhances pH balance with a natural copper/ zinc mineral media called KDF-55D. The second water filtration stage uses a carbonized coconut shell media for the removal of synthetic chemicals and VOCs that vaporize and can be inhaled or absorbed through the skin potentially causing adverse health and cosmetic effects.

Without the harsh influences of chlorine you'll notice significant cosmetic benefits. Also by removing chlorine and other chemicals found in tap water, you eliminate health risks related to inhalation and skin absorption of these chemicals... now known to be a significant source of exposure to harmful VOCs (volatile organic chemicals).

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a SERIOUS water filter!, October 16, 2005

My husband is allergic to chlorine, so a shower filter is an absolute necessity. We've probably tried every filter that the home supply stores carry -- and this one makes all of those look like toy equipment.

It's not that the filters you get at Home Depot don't work. They do; they're certainly an improvement over the hard water we have, not to mention clearing out the chlorine. The thing is, they don't last long. The filters don't last three months, and we've never had the gizmo itself survive for more than a year. Usually, they broke in a dramatic manner, spraying the entire bathroom as they cracked with a loud bang. Depending on the design, they were also awkward to install, especially if you have a non-mundane shower head.

We've had the Aquasana for six months, and I've just bought the first replacement filter for it. This is definitely a significant improvement over those "basic" filters, and it's worth the extra money. The filtering is MUCH better -- I... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Bulky, Pricey...But Works As Advertised, December 10, 2006
Akin to most Amazon products with multiple reviews, there's something to be gleaned both from the positive AND negative feedback. This is certainly one of thosse products.

First things first: the Aquasana Shower Filter does what it promises. Expect noticeably cleaner and fresher water immediately after installation. I've used this in two different states over a 1.5 year-period. In both instances, the natural odor of the local tap water disappeared completely from my shower after installing this filter, likewise the water gunk ring that used to form after a week or two without it.

Related, this is one wonderful showerhead. I'm amazed with all of the filtration going on (alluded to below), such powerful pressure is produced. The multiple setting showerhead is likewise quite user-friendly, rarely -- once every 8-10 months -- requiring a moderate pore cleaning.

The Aquasana Shower Filter, however, is not perfect. This is one expensive solution to... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars mixed emotions - cracks consistently, February 6, 2008

i have mixed emotions about this product. the filter itself is great -- as soon as i stopped using it, i noticed a very definite difference in my skin and hair -- i miss the filter and long to have another one. HOWEVER, three in a row have cracked on me. the first one i let it slide because they ship every six months on auto-ship and i was due a new one in the next week. The second one cracked within a month of replacement, i called the company and explained the problem. They were happy to send a replacement but i had to pay the shipping (!?!). That frustrated me, but since i hadn't reported the first one, i paid the shipping and they sent me a new one. The third and last one cracked within a couple of months and i just gave up. i'm tired of paying for a faulty product and the company doesn't seem to care whether it's faulty or not. I also had the under the sink kitchen filter, which i also loved, but was very upset to come home one day and find the cabinet under the sink... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Capresso water filter - not really necessary, July 5, 2008
By
This review is from: Capresso 4440.90 3-pack Charcoal Water Filters (Kitchen)
As much as I love Capresso products - this one is questionable.

You might wonder what I mean by this - well, first of all look at the costs for just three filters. Second: If you use these filters as recommended on the package (60 uses or 6 weeks) then just do the math.

Yes, you will pay in one year more than the cost of your coffee maker. I have a Capresso coffee maker that cost over $200 and I love it but cannot afford these filters.

To beat this unnecessary filter and its expense, this is what you do. Simply use filtered water. Quality filtered water will be without all the particles and contaminants that will hurt your coffee maker. Then, follow the coffee maker's instructions regarding its cleaning - like using white vinegar to keep the system free of harmful calcification.

Manufacturers are in business to make money and they will sell you whatever you believe you must buy - these filters are not necessary!

This review is from: Capresso 4440.90 3-pack Charcoal Water Filters (Kitchen)
Beginning with the Coffee Team Plus, Capresso introduced the concept of a water filter in the water tank of their automatic coffee makers. If you use tap water, the filter is a wonderful idea. It removes impurities and chlorine before the water is heated. Clean water and a clean coffee maker = great coffee.
The manufacturer's recommendation is to change filters every 6 weeks or 60 pots of coffee. I usually change them every two months, or so. I imagine the effectiveness of the filter may depend on the quality of the water you use. I haven't had a problem yet.
Usage tip: Each filter is individually wrapped in plastic to keep it fresh until opened. When you open a filter, first soak it in cold water for about 15 minutes. Then rinse it under running water for another minute or two until the water dripping from the filter is clear. If you still see black particles dripping from the filter, run a pot of water through the coffee maker, with the new filter inserted, without coffee... Read more

I thought I would raise the average rating on this product: I use it for my cappresso coffee maker & grinder and works very well. As far as not working on other coffee makers it doesn't take a genius to read a manual or even to look at the damn things. Sorry to offend anyone mistakes happen or even ignorance but rating it a zero because YOU baught the wrong product is stupidity. Thanks and enjoy the clean water = good tasting coffee!
