*** IMPORTANT *** The PF-2 is for use with Black Berkey Purifiers - If you use ceramic filters, you will need the PF-4 *** PF-2 reduction elements are designed for use in conjunction with Black Berkey water purification elements to adsorb the following unwanted elements found in drinking water. Fluoride, Arsenic V and pre oxidized Arsenic III, Other residual heavy metal ions. FLUORIDE: Testing for fluoride was based on 20-30ppm of the ion in the influent aqueous solution at a flow rate of no more than 3 gpm per cubic foot of media. Results of < 1ppm of the fluoride ion in the effluent were typical for the media (>95% reduction). Under optimum conditions, effluent concentrations of less than 50 ppb were readily achieved (>99.75% reduction). ARSENIC: This product uniquely targets the entire family of arsenic oxide anions as well as the arsenic cations. REPLACEMENT: Under normal conditions it is recommended that each set of two PF-2 elements be replaced after 1,000 gallons.

This review is from: Berkey PF-2 Fluoride / Arsenic Filter (Set of 2) - Fits Black Berkey Purifiers Only (Kitchen) If you're not filtering the fluoride out of your water, you'll never know how GOOD it can taste!!! I won't drink any water that hasn't been through my Berkey. It makes the clearest ice cubes too! In this day and age when you don't really know what's coming out of your tap, why would you take a chance? I used to drink Evian bottled water exclusively because most bottled water tasted just like it came from the tap (found out later, that it did!), and was able to transition to Berkey water easily. Saves me TONS of money too! You can't go wrong with a Berkey. It removes the poison fluoride out of the water. I would recommend the Berkey products to everyone. Don't drink the tap water!!! My grandson only gets Berkey filter water. I have a second grandson on the way and he will only get the Berkey filtered water. Do yourself a favor and get a Berkey water filtration system. You will not regret it. Pros: - Saves money over buying bottled water - Convenient: don't have to lug bottled water into the house, and don't have to throw out the empty containers - Decent looking: nice shiny chrome finish - Filters last for many months, and are easy to replace (just buy online). Cons: - Filtered water pours out more slowly than unfiltered water. There is a switch to select filtered or unfiltered water. Unfiltered water will pour out as normal, but filtered water will pour out more slowly. To be exact, I just checked mine, and it pours at a rate of 1 fluid oz./sec. This will feel really slow at first, but since you probably do a lot of multitasking in the kitchen, you quickly get used to filling a container with water while you do something else for a few seconds. - You are attaching a big thing on the end of your faucet: this reduces the... At first I figured it may simply be a defective model but now I am convinced PUR makes substandard products. I love the filtered water that come out of it, I just hate the fact that they break so easily. Here's my tip to PUR: PAY YOUR MECHANICAL ENGINEERS BETTER. Now I am left with a few expensive 3 stage filters and I have no choice but to buy another one of these crappy things. Fool me once shame on PUR, fool me 5 times...I must be an idiot.
